Founders4Schools teams up with the BBC to inspire a new techno savvy generation
14 May 2015

Founders4Schools are proud to be partnering with the BBC this year on ‘Make it Digital’, the BBC’s major UK-wide initiative to inspire a new generation to get creative with coding, programming and digital technology.

With the UK facing a significant skills shortage and 1.4m digital professionals needed over the next five years, the BBC, Founders4Schools and other like-minded organisations are on a mission to equip students with the tools, inspiration and access to the knowledge needed to address the problem.

Founders4Schools can connect first-class business leaders who head up fast-scaling digital companies, with their local schools to give students a unique and honest insight into what they do. The lively hour-long events that teachers can set-up in just 5 minutes are dynamic, thought provoking and help provide concrete examples of the sorts of jobs that are being hired for in their local area, and most importantly, what they entail (rather than what students perceive!).

“Founders4Schools is delighted to be partnering with BBC Make it Digital. There’s no better organisation to raise awareness of everything digital to audiences in the UK. We too are dedicated to ensuring that students flourish in this digital era by providing a free service that connects school students with leading business founders, many operating in the digital sector. We look forward to an exciting year ahead and the positive impact and legacy this campaign will no doubt have." Sherry Coutu, CBE. Chair, Founders4Schools
